Mental health and emotional wellbeing
Looking after our mental health and emotional wellbeing is as important as maintaining our physical health. We all have times when we feel down, stressed or anxious and most of the time those feelings pass, but sometimes they develop into a more prolonged or serious problem and it’s important to recognise when this is happening and to take steps to look after ourselves. Reaching out to ask for help and taking action to look after your own mental health is a commendable and brave thing to do. There is information in this section that can help you to consider the best option for you.
If you feel worried about your mental health or are considering taking your own life, you can call your GP surgery and arrange to speak to someone immediately, or alternatively the Samaritans offer completely confidential emotional support 24 hours per day.
