This Community Connect online mapping tool has been created to help identify and share community solutions that are available across the county.
How does it work?
This tool is an online webpage that works like Google Maps, you can click and zoom in on the map or use key words to focus your search.
What information can I find here?
Activities and groups
Can I add information about community solutions?
Yes! For this to be a valuable resource, everyone is encouraged to take responsibility keeping it as up to date as possible. You can add new information to the site by completing an online form (found on the ‘Suggest something’ tab). This will then be uploaded.
What if I notice something needs changing or improving?
Some records have more detail than others – if a record needs improving and you can help, you can provide further details to complete the record. If the information is inaccurate or out of date, you can ‘suggest a change to this record’ and this will then be updated with the latest information. If you have noticed a gap in provision please use the Contact us link to let us know, so we can report this back to commissioners.
Is the site finished?
This tool is still in its development phase and will continue to evolve over the coming months so you might notice small changes from time to time. You can keep up to date with the changes and see what improvements are coming soon on the ‘About’ tab.
Let us know what you think!
If you have any ideas about the functionality of the site to help us make the tool even better – please let us know! You can give feedback directly via the ‘Contact us’ tab.
Things to remember
The community solutions shown on the site have not been quality assured in any way. They are just groups and activities that we know about. There is an important disclaimer on the site that you should familiarise yourself with.
This tool is for professionals and community partners to share and update information about what’s happening in our communities. The site should not be shared with anyone else.
Somerset Choices remains our public tool and further development work is underway. It is possible that this site will form part of the public facing site in the future!
